Tucson Chargers - Team Registration Football & Cheer

2009 Registration Information:
There are no more scheduled registration dates, but the
CHARGERS WILL CONTINUE TO TAKE NEW PLAYERS THROUGH THE FIRST WEEK OF PRACTICE (AUGUST 3rd). 
If you are interested in registering your child for football or cheerleading, please call to check for team availability. You can call Lindsey at 405-5533. 
 

Athletes are placed on rosters on a first come basis. The team rosters are numerically limited. Even if you played last year, your space is not guaranteed for the current season -- so register early. Forms and information about sign-ups for the 2009 season are available on the website and will also be available at registration.
 
Registration Fees:
  • Tackle Football Divisions - $185
  • Flag Football and all Cheer Squads -  $150
Important: Registrations received after July 18th should include a $25.00 Late Fee. The Fee covers only part of the cost to outfit and field a football team and cheerleaders. Costs include such items as purchasing helmets, shoulder pads, game uniforms, practice equipment (tackling dummies, sleds), field costs (light rental), abd program costs (federation fees, advertising, mailers, coaching and cheer clinics).
 
All equipment/uniforms are on loan and must be returned at the end of the season. The better you take care of your equipment, the less fund-raising and more we can do as an organization each year.

Flag has no weight requirements and is for children ages 5-7.

Cheer Team Assignment:
The Tucson Chargers Association uses the following chart to determine the assignment of cheer squad members.

In the event a child could cheer at 2 levels, the Association Cheer Director, the parents and the participant shall determine at which level he/she cheers. The Head Coaches of the 2 teams may be contacted for input, but will not be present during the final decision. If the Association does not form a team at any of these divisions, the Association Cheer Director will determine the placement of participants in those divisions. The preferred method would be to move the older participants up a division and move the younger participants down a division. The Board of Directors may grant a waiver for a child whose parents are all volunteering at a high level (Business Managers, Equipment Managers & Coaches) and are within one year of the division at which a parent is volunteering. This waiver would only be granted to prevent an extreme hardship on a volunteer who is already giving so much.
 
What to Bring to Registration:
Please bring each of each of the following... make sure players and/or guardians sign the forms as appropriate: 
  • Birth Certificate
  • Report Card (Entire Year-End from the prior school year)
  • Current Physical Form (must state participant is okay to participate in sports)
  • Registration Application
  • Athlete and Parent Code of Conduct Forms
  • Waiver and Release of Liability Agreement
  • Contact and Emergency Contact Information
